Paramus is a suburban borough located around eight miles west of Upper Manhattan in Bergen County, New Jersey. Paramus is the second largest among 70 municipalities in Bergen County. Saddle River County Park runs for almost 600 acres along the Saddle River on the west side of Paramus. This park has a six-mile hiking and biking trail, as well as a scenic waterfall, a lake, and ponds where fishing is permitted.
Van Saun County Park covers 146 acres. Facilities here include basketball and tennis courts and baseball, softball, and soccer fields.
Bergen County Zoo at Van Saun County Park is home to animals such as mountain lions, prairie dogs, and red wolves. The zoo also has an amphitheater for live animal shows, a carousel, and train and pony rides.​​​​​​​
